I'm an Italian-American who has taught in Italy twice, and my favorite place to eat while I'm there is TRATTORIA DA EZIO in Macerata, a small Renaissance town in the Marche.

The restaurant is a little mom-and-pop storefront, and the menu varies depending on whats looks best at the market beef, veal, pork.

I doubt the restaurant even has a freezer !

Every Christmas Eve they feed free meals to whomever shows up, they don't turn anyone away.
